We hope everyone had a great Independence Day weekend with their favorite people. We're back with another update on the ODU baseball players suiting up in summer leagues this year. Let's get to it.
Peninsula Pilots
Macaddin Dye continues to rake for the Pilots, hitting .338/.442/.600. He's seen time at both first base and catcher, and over his last five games he went 8-for-23 with a double, two home runs, and six RBI. That stretch of play earned him a spot on the CPL All-Star team.

After a rough start, Tyler Zedalis has found his rhythm at the plate in recent weeks. Over his last six games before the All-Star break, he went 10-for-23 with two doubles, a triple, and four RBI, good for a .435/.480/.609/1.089 slash line. He's been logging time at the infield corners and in the outfield.

Jackson Runyon continues to pitch for the Pilots as well. His numbers may look rough, but after making just one appearance for the Monarchs last season, this kind of playing time is invaluable for the young pitcher.
There are still plenty of chances to get out and cheer on our guys at War Memorial β see the schedule below.

Norfolk Mermaids
New Jersey has been well represented on the ODU baseball roster under Coach Finwood's direction, and that trend continues with the 2026 high school recruiting class: three Garden State products β Carney O'Donnell, Brady Jackson and Jake Wagner β signed on to become Monarchs. All three have already arrived in Norfolk and are suiting up for the Mermaids. Indiana product Jace Watson is doing the same, joining returning Monarchs Jackson Okonkwo and Grayson Sparr with the Mermaids. It's great to see these young guys already getting acclimated to the area while competing on the diamond.
The Mermaids don't have their stats posted online, but if you're interested in catching a game, please visit this link.

Outside the 757
Keeping the offseason grind alive, Davis Albert is currently slashing .240/.381/.420 with the Clayton Clovers (Clayton, NC). Over with the Winchester Royals, Cam Tellefsen continues to work on his craft, hitting .247/.389/.558. Tellefsen has tacked on more damage since our last update, launching his 6th home run of the summer.
Harlan Rowe's time with the Wenatchee AppleSox appears to be over β he's now listed as inactive, and his stats haven't changed since our last update.Β The same holds true for Patrick Dudley; however, Liam Stewart made a recent appearance for the Chili Peppers and improved his record to 2-0 this summer. It looks like fellow newcomer Sylas Mills will join him there as well β he was recently added to the roster but has yet to make his first appearance. Sylas is a Catawba Valley Community College product from Hickory, North Carolina and is listed as catcher and first basemen addition for the Monarchs.
Hunter Baynes headed out to the MLB Draft League this summer to play for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers. The upperclassman pitcher picked up some great experience, taking the mound four times before heading back to school.
Now, these guys still have a few more weeks of games. So if you have an opportunity, we encourage you to get out to a game to root the fellas on.Β
