This will be a continuing series where we ask the members of the 2025 class for ODU football the same questions to get to know them better and learn more about their recruitment at Old Dominion. Next up in this series for the 2025 class, Justin Kalitsnik.
Justin is 6'2, 215 lb., linebacker from Milford, Pennsylvania. Justin was originally apart of the 2024 class but gray shirted in 2024 to be a Monarch in 2025. He attended the same high school as Jason Henderson, was First Team All League, All Region and All State. We're told he has the potential to make an impact on day 1.

Do you have a nickname you prefer to go by?
JK
Who was your lead recruiter and how would you describe your relationship with the staff?
Coach Seiler was my lead recruiter. I absolutely love the staff. They are great people. One of the biggest reasons why I committed to ODU.
You gray shirted this last season, what went behind that decision and how do you think it’s helped prepare you for your freshman year?
I feel like being gray shirted was a great decision. When I first got offered by ODU, I was on the smaller side. So having that extra time to develop a little more and put on some weight was great, especially heading into my freshman year.
On the visits you have made to campus, what stood out the most to you?
I thought the campus was great. It looks amazing, especially in the summer and with all the things you could do around campus.
What other offers were you considering?
Syracuse was definitely a possibility. I was being recruited by them for a while. Unfortunately things didn’t work out, but I’d rather be nowhere else besides here.
What made you pick ODU over your other offers?
ODU just really stuck out to me. I think the staff is amazing. Campus is really fun. There’s a bunch of things to do and I just felt like I fit in well.
If you had to pick a player to compare your game to, who would you pick and why?
This question is tough. I feel like every player plays a little differently than one another, but if I had to pick; Jason Henderson. Most of the things I know, Jason taught me. My freshman year of high school he taught me a lot.
What has been your favorite moment or highlight from your football career so far?
Putting on my first pair of pads.
If you weren’t playing football, what other sport would you want to play in college?
Lacrosse. Started playing in third grade and still love the game.
If you were a boxer or UFC fighter, what would your entrance music be?
Entrance music would definitely be “it’s up” by Drake or “no face” Drake.
ODU LB and All American, Jason Henderson is from the same high school as you, Delaware Valley. Do you two know each other well? And if so, what is your relationship like?
Our friendship really took off when I got bumped up to varsity my freshman year. Jason was really hard on me and basically rebuilt me as a player. Jason is one of my best friends and I love him to death, I would do anything for him. I wouldn’t be where I am without him.
What is your message for Monarch Nation?
To Monarch Nation, thank you for the opportunity. I heard you guys are the best and let’s have a great season!!!!
